Biography

Young-Han Nam is a Principal Engineer at Standards & Mobility Innovation lab in Samsung Research America, Richardson, USA, where he currently leads 5G base station algorithm research. He actively contributed to 4G LTE & 5G NR PHY-layer standardizations as a delegate from 2008 to 2017, and led discussions on 5G initial access and mobility, FD-MIMO, etc. He served as a rapporteur for 5G channel modeling study item in 3GPP RAN1, and led discussions and edited technical report 38.900/38.901. He received his Ph.D in electrical engineering from the Ohio State University, Columbus, OH, USA in 2008, M.S in biomedical engineering and B.S. in electrical engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea in 2002 and 1998.
